Look, when you find out that in the 90’s, Charles Band produced a series of kid’s movies about a teenage ‘time warrior,’ you’re gonna pick one of those movies for your b-movie podcast. It’s impossible not to.
There’s a Dr. Who rip-off, a gross magic puppet, and the main villain uses a mech-suit. HOW COULD YOU NOT?!
Just look at THIS FREAKIN’ TRAILER for the entire series.
Listen in this week to hear your favorite B-Movie Maniac, Michael Hayes, defend his choice.

Watch ‘Josh Kirby: Time Warrior: Human Pets’ on Amazon Prime and decide for yourself.
From Friday 2/17 to Sunday 2/19 we (meaning J and Chris) visited Capricon 37 in Wheeling, IL. This con is one of our Chicagoland favorites. We cruised the dealer room and picked up Netherworld from Full Moon Entertainment. Then we gave it the ol’ B-Movie Mania treatment before the con parties.
Synopsis: A young man arrives at his father’s mansion in Louisiana to discover that a secretive cult is using winged creatures to raise the dead to do their bidding.
Sorry, folks. This one isn’t available for free. However, you can watch the making of Netherworld free on YouTube. Someone also uploaded the complete soundtrack. It has a lot of Edgar Winter on it. C’mon. Don’t be a Stranger to Love.
Assorted musings:
– Special thanks to q. phia for loaning us the swanky hats in the picture above. She makes all kinds of awesome, steampunky clothing. Seriously just look at her site.
– Chris really liked our hotel bathroom. Way to go, Westin Chicago North Shore.
– Once upon a time in Arkansas, Paul and J went to the Full Moon Film Festival and screened their film, Late Afternoon of the Living Dead. It was there they met the man who puts the “Full Moon” in Full Moon Entertainment, Charles Band.
