Did you know the B-movie crew can read?! Crazy Chris and J will prove it to you in this short review. They read A Kim Jong-Il Production by Paul Fischer. The book details the account of director Shin Sang-Ok and his wife, actress Choi Eun-Hee. They are both international stars and kidnapped by Kim Jong-Il to make movies in North Korea. Pulgasari was one of those films. The book provides an in-depth look at couple’s tale as well as a riveting look into the life of Kim Jong-Il and his country. Listen, enjoy and find the book on Amazon.
Welcome to another episode of Talking B-Movies. This time Chris Hutson is your host and he interviews the King of the Monsters, Godzilla! Chris gets the big man’s hot take on Pulgasari, North Korea’s only kaiju movie. The awful dictator, Kim Jong-Il, produced Pulgasari and the film was directed by Shin Sang-ok. Shin was a world-renowned director whom Kim kidnapped to make films for North Korea. You can see Pulgasari on YouTube or Amazon Prime. The full episode drops next Tuesday and next Thursday we will release our first ever B-Movie Book report! Chris and Jason read an excellent book about the director’s kidnapping and experiences in North Korea. Lots of kaiju madness to come!
